The Medway Mustangs defeated Algonquin 49 to 36 in the 21st annual Westborough Girls Basketball Invitational Championship on Wednesday Night. The TVL-Small co-champion Mustangs claim the tournament title and finish regular season play with 17 wins and 4 losses.
In the tournament, Medway defeated St. Paul Diocesan (2/18) 48-37, Shepherd Hill (2/20) 51-31 and Algonquin (2/21) 49-36. Olivia Melanson (SR) captured the tournament MVP award and Anna Freeman (SO) made the All-Tournament team.
The Medway Mustang Girls team is currently ranked #4 in Division 3 and now await the final rankings and MIAA playoff brackets release.
