Westwood Girls Lacrosse advances to 21-2022 D1 State Championship

#2 Westwood Wolverines Girls Lacrosse took down #3 Lincoln-Sudbury on Wednesday, June 16th 16 to 2 in a final 4 battle to advance to the D1 State Championship where they will meet up with #4 Wellesley at Babson College on Monday, June 20th (Time TBD). TVL Large Champion, Westwood now has 24 wins and 0 losses overall. Westwood seeks their 2nd straight D1 state title and 8th state title since 2008.

Recent State Championship History: Westwood looks for the repeat in 2022 after taking down Franklin in the 2021 D1 State Championship 6 to 5.

Prior to that, Westwood defeated North Andover in the 2016 D1 State Championship by a final of 13 to 7 and fell to Longmeadow in the 2015 D1 State Championship, 10 to 9 in double overtime. Westwood defeated Longmeadow in 2014 D1 State Championship 9 to 7. Westwood also captured the 2012 D1 State title with a 20-6 win over Algonquin, 2011 D1 State title with a 15-9 win over Longmeadow, 2009 D1 State title over Longmeadow 11 to 10 and 2008 state title over Longmeadow 10 to 7.
