In the 1st round of playoff action the 1st seeded Hillers took on 17th seeded Silver Lake at the Canton Ice house on Friday February 28th. The Hillers offense picked up right where they left off netting 2 goals in the 1st period. It was 2-0 after the 1st, Silver Lake netted a goal with 8:57 left but the Hillers responded with 3 more goals. The Hillers hung on for the 5 to 3 win and advanced to the quarterfinals.
On Sunday March 1st, the 1st seeded Hillers met up with 9th seeded Bishop Stang in the quarterfinals. Hillers trailed 1-0 heading into the 2nd period until Sean Walsh tied things up with 11:10 left to go in the period. Bishop Stang would net 2 goals after and go up 3-1 but the Hillers responded with a goal of their own by Tommy Hamblet with 1:54 left in the 2nd.
In the 3rd period, some tremendous Goal-tending by Bishop Stangs, Matt Dore forced the Hillers to pull their goaltender and the Spartans would net 2 empty net goals and take the upset win over the Hillers 5 to 2.
Hopkinton ends their tremendous season with a record of 20 wins and 2 losses. Congratulations to Coach Macpherson and the players on an incredible run, they have a lot to be proud of!
