Dover-Sherborn/Weston Boys Hockey advances to D4 State Championship

#5 seeded Dover-Sherborn/Weston Boys Hockey took a 2 to 1 shootout win over #1 seeded Winthrop in a Division 4 Semi-Finals matchup on Saturday, March 9th at Gallo Arena.

Dover-Sherborn claims a spot in the D4 State Championship game, which will take place at 11am on Sunday, March 17th at the TD Garden in Boston. Dover-Sherborn will battle #6 seeded Hanover (15-9-0), who defeated #10 Stoneham during the 2nd Overtime in the other D4 Semi-finals matchup this past Saturday at Gallo Arena.

During the game, Winthrop struck in the 1st period and led 1-0 until 7 minutes left in the 2nd period. Brayden McKenna scored an unassisted goal for DS/Weston with 7 minutes left to play in the 2nd period to tie the game at 1-1. No further goals would be scored through the rest of regulation and two 8-minute OT periods forcing the game into a shootout.

During the shootout, Brayden McKenna and Calvin Roman netted goals for the Blue Raiders and Goalie, Andrew Goldstein made some great saves in net to give DS/Weston the 2-1 shootout victory and 2-1 Semi-Finals Win!

Next up for #5 Dover-Sherborn/Weston (20-4-0) is a meeting with #6 Hanover (15-9-0) in the Division 4 State Championship game on Sunday, March 17th 11am at the home of the Boston Bruins, TD Garden.
