#12 Medway Wins Overtime Thriller VS #5 Dedham in 2024-25 D3 Field Hockey State Tournament

#5 Dedham hosted #12 Medway in a TVL-themed Division 3 State Tournament Round of 16 matchup. The game was scoreless until late in the 4th quarter when Bella Cortis (JR) found Senior Captain, Olivia Melanson who netted a score for Medway to make it a 1-0 game with 4:05 left to play. With just 20 seconds left in regulation, Fiona McCafferty netted the game-tying goal for Dedham and the game would head to a sudden-death 7 vs 7 overtime.

In overtime with 8:33 left, Medway Senior Captain, Olivia Melanson struck again for a score and gave Medway the walk-off 2 to 1 win. #12 Medway advances and will head to Medfield for the Round of 8 in another D3 TVL-themed playoff matchup against #4 Medfield on Saturday, November 9th at 4pm! #5 seeded Dedham ends their season with a record of 14 wins,4 losses,2 ties and Medway improves to 7 wins,9 losses and 2 ties.
