đ Alumni Athlete Spotlight: Victoria McGowan â24
Not far removed from 200 Nahatan⌠and already making major noise at the next level.
Some athletes leave a legacy at Westwood and move on⌠others carry it with them and keep building. Victoria McGowan is doing exactly that â continuing a tradition from one of Westwoodâs most decorated athletic families, long known as pillars of the townâs sports history.
đ Westwood High School Career
⢠Four-year varsity track & field athlete under Coach Jen Teahan
⢠Senior captain and leader of a TVL Championship team

â Triple Jump: 35â7.5â
â 4x100m Relay: 50.5
⢠Career PRs: 13.22 (100m), 35â7.5â (TJ)
But Victoriaâs story is bigger than just results. She embraced trying new things â from gymnastics to swim & dive (top 10 in the state) â and turned opportunity into excellence. That mindset helped define her time at Westwood.
đ Off the Track

⢠National Honor Society (2 years)
⢠Spanish National Honor Society (3 years)
⢠Seal of Biliteracy (Spanish & English)
⢠Events Manager, Cancer Kids First â driven by compassion and purpose
âĄď¸ Now at Holy Cross
And hereâs the best part⌠sheâs just getting started.
Currently a sophomore at Holy Cross, Victoria is already making her mark:
⢠1st place â URI Coaches Invitational (Triple Jump)
⢠8th â New England Intercollegiate Championships
⢠10th â Patriot League (Indoor) with a new PR (11.3m)
⢠3rd â Bryant University Invite (Spring opener)
And just as impressive in the classroom â Victoria has earned a 4.0 GPA in 2 of her first 3 semesters, an incredible accomplishment while balancing the demands of Division I athletics and a packed student-athlete schedule.
From 200 Nahatan to Holy Cross⌠and still rising.
