Holliston Boys Basketball Stays Perfect with Win VS Hopkinton

The Holliston Panthers have started off the season red hot! Leading up to a road game versus Hopkinton on Tuesday (1/3), the Panthers defeated Bellingham (70-47), Ashland (81-48), Millis (70-63) and Westwood (75-71). Holliston was one of the few teams that did not play over the Holiday break so they had 10 days off between handing Westwood their 1st loss and taking on Hopkinton.

The Holiday break did not slow the Panthers down. Holliston put up 14 points in the 1st quarter and 12 in the 2nd and led 26-16 at the half. Hopkinton scored 8 points in each quarter and struggled from the free throw line hitting only 6 out of 20 attempts. Holliston took advantage of their free throw opportunities in the first half and hit 8 out of 10.

The Panthers continued dominance in the 3rd quarter and outscored Hopkinton 16-9. Holliston’s Dylan Karsarjian (JR) and Mike Alibrandi (SR) each dropped 6 points from the floor in the quarter while Andrew Lynch (JR) struck from 3 point land. Holliston led 42-25 at the end of the quarter.

In the 4th quarter, the Hillers cut the Holliston lead to 6 but were unable to come up with key shots in the closing minutes. Holliston improved to to 5 and 0 and took the game 53-42. Hopkinton falls to 2-4.
