On Monday January 27th, Hiller Boys Hockey was trailing 4-2 with just over 1 minute left to play in regulation vs Algonquin. The Algonquin Titans suffered a 5-minute major call along with a 2-minute minor penalty and found themselves 2 men short, Matt Pedroli netted a goal shortly after with 1:05 left to go in the 3rd period to put the Hillers within a goal, Algonquin led 4-3. The Titans killed off the minor but was still a man short and Pedroli took advantage once again at 13 seconds left in regulation to tie the game at 4-4. In overtime, Algonquin killed off the remaining 2:42 of the 5 minute major but shortly after Matt Pedroli struck with 1:55 left in the sudden-death overtime and clinched the 5-4 non-league win for the Hillers and claimed the hat-trick game-winning goal.
Hopkinton improved to 5-6-2, Algonquin falls to 5-5-2.
