Video: Hopkinton Hillers 2017-2018 Fall Sports Previews

The Hopkinton Hillers Girls Volleyball team has won state championships in 2 of the past 3 seasons. This year will be a bit more difficult to bring home the state title due to the fact that for the first time ever, the Hillers will now play in the Division 1 playoff bracket instead of Division 2. Despite losing a few key members of last years championship team, this years team has faith they can continue the incredible success of the program.

Hopkinton Hillers Boys Soccer Head Coach, Garret Sawyer is entering his 14th season at the helm and this year he has 3 motivated, experienced Senior Captains leading the team; Nate Pucci, Owen Delaney and Connor Delaney. Below is a look at this years Hopkinton Hillers Boys Soccer team.

Head Coach, Joan Bannon is entering her 12th season as head coach of the Hopkinton Hillers Field Hockey team and with a number of returning players from last years playoff contending team, the Hillers are hoping to take a step further this year.

Last Season, The Hopkinton Hillers Field Hockey team finished with 11 wins, 3 losses and 4 ties overall. Hopkinton was able to claim the 12th spot in the South Division 1 playoff bracket and came away with some big wins in the post season. In the first round they defeated 21st seeded Norwood, 3-0, followed by a huge upset 2-1 win in double overtime against 5th seeded Silver Lake. After that, they competed hard with Sandwich and it was anyone’s game until Sandwich scored the only goal of the game in the sudden death overtime period.

The Hillers finished 13-4 and 4 overall and this season they returned some key players and are looking to take a step further with experienced leadership.

The Hopkinton Boys Cross Country team is getting ready for another season. This year the team is led by 4 captains including: Young Wang, Ian Holmes, Brendan Coccio and Jack Dionne. Head Coach Jennifer Fairbanks enters her 11th season as the Head Coach of the Hillers Boys Cross Country team. View interviews with the Head Coach and Captains below.

The Hopkinton Hillers football team finished with 4 wins and 7 losses last season. This years Hillers captains who are all seniors all played a good amount of minutes last year and bring good experience to the table.

Seniors Matt Lindquist and Anthony Farina will lead the line-backing core this year. On the offensive side of the ball Matt Lindquist will be lining up at Receiver while Antony Farina will be on the offensive line. Michael Ianelli will also serve as wide receiver and transition to safety on the defensive side this year. Alex MacDonald will serve as a top defensive end and offensive tackle, Connor Hebert who is entering his senior year is expected to lead the backfield as well as get a good amount of reps at corner back on the defensive side.
