On Tuesday February 25th, a TVL-themed Round of 32 matchup took place at the Canton Ice House as #13 seeded Medfield hosted #20 seeded Hopkinton/DS co-op. Medfield ended up taking the win 4-0 to move on to the Round of 16. The Hillers end their great season at 10-9-0, Medfield improves to 12-7-2 and will next head to the New England Sports Center and take on #4 seeded Algonquin on Saturday, March 1st at 5:30pm.
Medfield struck with their 1st goal during the 1st period. Senior Captain, Michaela McDonald sent a rocket-saucer shot stick-side from the top of the left circle to make it 1-0 with 45 seconds left in the period. No further goals were scored until the 3rd period, at 13:23 left in the 3rd Lexi Guindon (SO) hit Leah Carlson (8th Grade) in-front of the net with a perfect pass and Carlson netted a backhander for the score. Several minutes later Medfield would strike again courtesy of a Senior-Captain Maeve Kelly rocket-shot from the high slot at 6:29 left. Senior Captain, Brooke Reilly added icing on the cake hitting an empty-netter with 5.9 seconds left.
