Video: #10 Hudson VS #7 Medway D4 Boys Hockey Round of 16

TVL Sports Net was on the scene at Pirelli Veteran’s Arena for #7th seeded Medway hosting #10 seeded Hudson in the D4 Boys Varsity Hockey State Tournament Round of 16.

Hudson took the lead at 6:32 left in the 1st period courtesy of a goal from 8th grader, Brayden Diodato assisted by Captain, Jordan Sousa. Sophomore, Jordan Sousa would net the 2nd goal of the game, short-handed in the 2nd period with 5:15 left to give Hudson a 2-0 lead. Medway struck back in the 3rd period, Michael Cortis put the Mustangs on the board with just over 9 minutes left and Jason Drake added the game-tying goal at 3:51 left to make it a 2-2 game.

Despite good pressure from both teams, the game would remain tied and head to over-time. After a back and forth 5 minute 4 on 4 OT, Hudson would strike 18 seconds into the 2nd 3 on 3 OT period and Hawks Sophomore Jordan Sousa secured his 2nd goal of the game as he drove up the ice and went stick-side past Sophomore goaltender, Brody Manning for the game-winner.

#10 seeded Hudson takes the 3-2 upset win in double OT over #7 Medway and advances to the Round of 8 improving to 18-2-2. Medway’s incredible season comes to an end with a record of 11-10-1.
