Norton’s Kelly Nelson is the new MIAA Softball all-time Strikeout Leader

On May 23rd, Norton Senior, Kelly Nelson surpassed Milford’s Shannon Smith and became the new all-time strikeout leader in the state. During the regular season, Kelly Nelson went 18 and 1 striking out 266 batters in 122 innings pitched and compiling a 0.57 ERA. Last season Kelly Nelson went 21 and 2 with a 0.21 ERA and struck out 398 hitters. Kelly Nelson will continue to add on to her state record 1,220 total through this season and the playoffs.
