On Saturday (June 6th), Norton hosted Gloucester in a Round of 8 matchup at Norton High School. The Lancers made it a 1-0 game in the Bottom of the 1st when Avery Tinkham hit a sacrifice fly to score Liana Danubio after she reached on an error.
Norton plated 2 more runs in the bottom of the 2nd. Paige Donahue hit a sacrifice fly to score Avery Soares followed by a Casey Dart bunt to score Lucy Perachio to make it a 3-0 game.
The Lancers added 4 more runs in the bottom of the 3rd to take full control of the game; an Avery Soares single scored Talia Faria, Paige Donahue reached on an error which scored Avery Soares & Madelyn Artz followed by a Casey Dart single to score Sara Morrison.
Norton Pitcher Liana Danubio pitched 7 solid innings giving up 1 run on 3 hits and struck out 11. The Norton Lancers improved to 22 and 1 and won their 13th straight game.
#2 Norton will next host #3 seed Joseph Case in the D3 Final 4 on Wednesday June 10th at UMASS Dartmouth. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30pm.
