Medway Athletic Department Recognizes Fall 2023 Team Achievements

Athletic Director Jeff Parcells and Principal John Murray wish to recognize Medway High School’s student-athletes on a successful fall athletics season.

MHS offers seven sports for students during the fall season. Teams compete in the Tri-Valley League (TVL) as part of the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA).

“Our student-athletes have shown great determination and sportsmanship, which has led to another successful fall athletics season at Medway High School,” Director Parcells said. “We are immensely proud of all of our teams, players and coaches, and also wish to thank all of the family members, friends and community members who have supported our student-athletes throughout the season.”

Cheer
The team won six competitions throughout the season and was the TVL Champions, South Regional Champions and placed third in the State Championship.

Olivia Olynciw was named a TVL All-Star.

Boys Cross Country
The team finished 3-2 overall in the TVL, and was an MIAA State Divisional Race Qualifier.

AJ Bonarrigo, Myles Hoffman, Nate Hoffman, Matt Montana, Sam Oldmixon and Daniel Smith were Honorable Mention All-Stars.

Oldmixon and Smith were team captains.

Girls Cross Country
The team finished 1-4 overall in the TVL, and was an MIAA State Divisional Race Qualifier.

Sophie Heiden was named an Honorable Mention All-Star. Heiden and Holly Erving were team captains.

Field Hockey
The team finished 6-8-2 overall and 5-5-2 in the TVL. The team received the 15th seed in the state tournament and competed through the round of 32.

Elizabeth Kenney and Maggie Monaghan were named TVL All-Stars and Sienna Flotta, Gwen Smith and Elaina Van Saun were named Honorable Mention All-Stars.

Flotta, Kenney and Monaghan were team captains.

Football
The team finished 1-10 overall and 0-5 in the TVL. The team received the TVL Small Sportsmanship Award.

Henry Comras and Dylan Costa were named TVL All-Stars and Ryan Applebaum, Christian Cautilli, Ryan Hoye, Aidan Tkowski and Jacob White were named Honorable Mention All-Stars.

Matthew Antonuccio, Brendan McNamara, Applebaum and Comras were team captains.

Golf
The team finished 8-7 overall, 5-6 in the TVL and was a MIAA Division II State Sectional Qualifier. The team received the TVL Small Sportsmanship Award.

Gavin Shipos and Owen Spellman were named TVL All-Stars and Jason Drake, Evan Goodman and Zach Nielsen were named Honorable Mention All-Stars.

Ava Fahey, Nielsen, Shipos and Spellman were team captains.

Boys Soccer
The team finished 7-5-7 overall and 6-3-6 in the TVL. The team received the 19th seed in the state tournament and played through the round of 32.

Christian Chiplock and Ben Martin were named TVL All-Stars; Alex Stott and Corey Vasko were named Honorable Mention All-Stars; and Martin was named an Eastern Mass Coaches All-Star.

Chiplock, Martin and Vasko served as team captains.

Girls Soccer
The team finished 5-10-4 overall and 5-7-4 in the TVL. The team received the 18th seed in the state tournament and played through the round of 32.

Ellie Mahan was named a TVL All-Star and Delaney Condon, Ellie Copeland, Regan Longval and Meaghan Tompkins were named Honorable Mention All-Stars.

Ari Keaney, Mahan and Tompkins were team captains.

Volleyball
The team finished 4-14 overall and 3-11 in the TVL. The team received the TVL Small Sportsmanship Award.

Alicia Pacheco was named a TVL All-Star and Jaina Campbell, Leah Crespi, Annabelle Gerber and Delaney Suttill were named Honorable Mention All-Stars.

Campbell, Pacheco and Suttill were team captains.
