Hopkinton Senior Ruth and Ashland 7’s Baseball Both Win Championships!

Congratulations to the Hopkinton Sr. Ruth and Ashland 7’s Baseball teams. Both claimed the championship on Friday Night!

The Hopkinton Senior Ruth team clinched the Best of 3 Championship series with a win over Marlborough in Marlborough on Friday (8/14). The Hillers took the series 2-0 and dethroned the 2x defending champion Marlborough team. Marlborough had a 3-1 lead heading into the 4th but the Hillers rallied big in the Top of the 4th and plated 11 runs! Hopkinton would end up taking the game 14 to 4.

Hillers Top Performers: Tommy Ambrosone (2-3, R, 2RBI’s, BB), Ronnie Shamus (1-3, R, 2BB), Conor Kelly (1-3, 2R, 2RBI’s, 2BB), Alex Barker-Hook (1-4, R, 3RBI’s), Jack Breslin (3-5, 3R, RBI), Dylan Locke (3-4, R, 3RBI’s), Cam Jerrett (2-4, R, 3RBI’s), Andrew Gaughn (1-1, R, BB).

Hillers Pitching: Jack Breslin (2IP, 5H 3R, 0ER, K), Mike Burney (3.2IP, 2H, 1R, 1ER, 2K’s, 3BB), Conor Kelly (1.1IP, 1H, 0R, 4K’s).

Hopkinton finishes their championship season with 12 wins, 4 losses and 1 tie overall.

Congratulations to the Ashland 7’s who also took home a championship Friday Night. Ashland defeated Medfield 7 to 1 in a winner take-all game to claim the Massachusetts Independent Baseball League title at Adams Stadium in Quincy. The Ashland 7’s finish their season with 19 wins and 3 losses overall.
