Holliston, Dedham, Bellingham Round of 16 Football Matchup Previews

Division 4: #7 Scituate (6-3) @ #2 Holliston (6-3) – (Friday, November 10th 5pm)

Holliston and Scituate have met 5 times in the playoffs since 2013. During those 5 meetings, Holliston won 3 of them. Holliston defeated Scituate 35 to 25 during their last meeting which took place last year in the Round of 16 on Nov 11th. Scituate took the wins in the previous 2 meetings (2017, 2018), while Holliston captured the two meetings prior (2013, 2014). It should be a very even and tough matchup in their 6th playoff meeting this Friday!

#2 Holliston defeated #15 Ashland in the 1st round of the playoffs 24 to 16. In the win, QB Kaua Lima (SR) connected with WR’s, Connor Teague (JR) and Brad Andreola (SR) for TD’s. RB, Devin Harding (SR) had a rushing touchdown and 28 rushing yards for the Panthers. In addition to his 99 yards and 2 passing TD’s, Lima also rushed for 106 yards in the Panthers victory. Division 5: #5 Danvers (6-3) @ #4 Dedham (7-2) – (Friday, November 10th 6pm)

In the first round of the 2023-24 playoffs, #4 Dedham captured a dominant 30 to 6 win over #13 Apponequet. Dedham QB, Joe Goffredo went 7 for 12 passing and threw for 146 yards and 2 TD’s, including a 57 yard TD to WR Antonio Tannous. RB Gianni Gasbarro chipped in with a pair of rushing TD’s.

Danvers missed the playoffs in 2022 but had a strong run in the 2021 playoffs in which they made it to the elite 8 before falling to Duxbury 39 to 14. Dedham fell in the 1st round of the 2022 playoffs, losing to North Reading in the D5 round of 32, 50 to 18. This will be the first playoff meeting in recent history between the 2 programs.

Division 6: #15 Stoneham (5-4) @ #10 Bellingham (6-3) – (Friday, November 10th 7pm)

#10 Bellingham pulled off a 28 to 21 upset win over #7 Maynard in the 1st round of the playoffs. In the Win, QB Dasha Domercant rushed for two TD’s and passed for one, Dasha also had a key 66-yard run. WR/CB Jeremiah Domercant had an interception and 44 yard touchdown reception. RB Corey Perkins also tallied a rushing TD for the Blackhawks. Bellingham has now won 6 straight games.

Last year, Bellingham fell in the 1st round of the D6 playoffs while Stoneham advanced to the D6 State Championship but fell to St. Mary’s 22 to 8. In 2021, Bellingham fell to Medway in 1st round of the D6 playoffs while Stoneham fell in the Round of 16 to BVT 28 to 14.
