-Baseball: Dedham defeats Norton 3-2 in 8 Innings

Norton took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 2nd, due to a passed ball by Dedham catcher following a steal of 3rd by Quint Perry, the error allowed Perry to score and give Norton the 1-0 lead. It remained 1-0 until the top of the 6th when Edwin Rodriguez (SR) tripled to drive in Cam Galvin (SR) and make it a 1-1 game.

Dedham plated 2 runs in the top of the 8th. Edwin Rodriguez (SR) hit a sacrifice fly to score Liam Dowling (SR) and make it 2-1. Dowling had singled earlier in the inning. Cam Keane (SR) hit a sacrifice groundout that scored Cam Galvin (SR) and make it 3-1. Galvin had also singled earlier in the inning.

Norton threatened in the bottom of the 8th with a single from John Salem and Evan Ingram to start the inning. Dedham pitcher Liam Dowling responded with a strikeout of Nate Kristiansen for the first out. Adam Caldwell then singled to drive in John Salem and make it a 3-2 game. Dedham pitcher, Liam Dowling would get Ben Price & Chas Magri to pop out following the Norton run to secure the extra inning victory for Dedham.

For Dedham; Liam Dowling (SR) went 1-3 at the plate and scored a run, Cam Galvin (SR) went 3-4 with 2 runs, Edwin Rodriguez (SR) went 2-3 with 2 RBI. Starting Pitcher, Jack Haven (SR) pitched 7 solid innings giving up 4 hits, 1 unearned run striking out 2, Liam Dowling (SR) earned the win pitching the 8th while giving up 3 hits, 1 Run, striking out 1.

With the win, Dedham improves to 1 and 2, Norton falls to 0 and 3 on the young 25-26 spring season.
