#1 seeded Medfield Warriors Girls basketball took on #3 seeded St. Mary’s Spartans at the Tsongas Arena in Lowell for the Division 2 State Championship on Friday March 13th, 6:15 tipoff.
The Warriors outscored St. Mary’s 10-4 in 1st quarter, 20-12 in the 2nd quarter and led 30-16 at the halftime break. Medfield’s Abby Broderick (SR) had 15 first half points to lead the way for the Warriors. St. Mary’s ran into early foul trouble in the 3rd quarter and Medfield would outscore the Spartans 16-13 and take a 46-29 lead into the 4th quarter.
In the 4th quarter, Meghan Olenik (SO) & Tess Baacke (SR) both knocked down a pair of 3’s, Naya Annigeri (JR) also had a 3-pointer as the Warriors offense exploded for 26 points and they also dominated rebounds holding St. Mary’s to just 9 points in the quarter. Medfield took the win 72 to 38.

23-24: Medfield defeats South High 48-42 (Record: 23-7)
24-25: Medfield defeats South High 62-20 (Record: 23-2)
25-26: Medfield defeats St. Mary’s 72-38 (Record: 25-0)
