On Monday November 17th, #2 seeded Norwell hosted #3 seeded Dover-Sherborn at Medway High School in the D3 State Semi-Finals. The 1st half was a back and forth defensive battle and remained scoreless. Within the final 25 minutes of the 2nd half, Norwell found the net a couple of times courtesy of Bret Amborosino (SR) & Ben Garland (SR). Caio Dos Santos (SR) responded for the Blue Raiders but despite fantastic goaltending from Patrick Driscoll (SR) it would not be enough. Norwell took the win over Dover-Sherborn by a final of 2 to 1.
#3 Dover-Sherborn ends season with a record of 16 wins, 5 losses & 1 tie. #2 Norwell improves to 19 wins, 0 losses & 1 tie + advances to the D3 State Championship game to take on #4 Greater New Bedford on Saturday November 22nd, 4:45pm at Curry College.
Last year, Dover-Sherborn defeated Norwell to claim the Boys Soccer D3 State Championship title but Norwell got it’s revenge this season.
