–Softball: Medfield defeats Holliston 6-5 in 12 Innings (4/6/26)
Medfield & Holliston softball had a back & forth battle in Medfield that ended up last 12 innings on Monday. Holliston started off the scoring in the top of the 3rd inning with a 2-RBI Grace Schoenberg double that scored Emma Kampersal & Claire Radcliffe. Medfield later responded in the bottom of the 4th courtesy of a Jordan Iovino 2-RBI single that scored Kendall Larkin & Tess Baacke to tie the game at 2-2.
Holliston went up 5-2 in the top of the 8th after Julia Galipeau stole home, Isabella Weidman & Anna Hegerich reached home plate for runs in the same sequence on a wild pitch & passed ball.
Medfield was down to their final 3 outs in the bottom of the 8th inning but would strike back with one out. Lindsay Barrett reached on an error which allowed Sophie Baker to score and then Tess Baacke singled, Kendall Larkin doubled to score Lindsay Barrett & Tess Baacke and tie the game at 5-5.
No more runs would score until the bottom of the 12th where Sophie Baker singled to drive in Connie Hillenmeyer for the walk-off extra innings winning run and take the game for Medfield 6 to 5.
Medfield improves to 2 and 1, Holliston falls to 0 and 3 on the season.
