The Medway Boys and Girls Soccer teams both represented the South bracket and played in Division 3 State Semi-Finals matchups at Westwood High School Wednesday Night (11/16). The Medway Boys started the Medway Semi-Finals Doubleheader off with a thriller against North Champion, Wayland. No goals were scored until Wayland knocked one in off a header with 2 seconds remaining in the 1st overtime period. Medway finishes 16-5-2 overall.
Wayland advances to take on Nipmuc in the Division 3 Boys State Championship.
The Medway Girls scored 3 goals in the first half against North Champion, Newburyport and never looked back. The Aviza Sisters scored all the goals for the Mustangs. Shannon Aviza knocked in 2 while Isabelle Aviza knocked in 1 of her own during the 3-0 victory. Medway and Millbury will play a State Championship rematch in the D3 finals. The 2 teams met in the state championship game last year and Millbury pulled off the 2-1 win. Medway improved to 19-1-2 overall with the victory.
**Update** State Championship game between Millbury and Medway will be at Milford High School, Saturday (Nov 19) at 10am.
