On Thursday (May 15th), Holliston & Dedham Baseball met up under the lights in Holliston. The Panthers hung on for the 8 to 7 win after Jack McDonald struck out Jimmy Doyle swinging for the 3rd out following 2 runs in the Top of the 7th by Dedham. Holliston improves to 13 and 5 on the season, Dedham falls to 6 and 10. Holliston has now won 7 straight games
The first run of the game occurred in the Bottom of the 2nd inning when Brogan Roache singled to drive in Ty Bosselman. The game remained 1-0 Holliston until they added 5 more runs in the bottom of the 3rd; Lucas Engel singled to drive in Jack McDonald, Arav Prajapati had a 2-run single scoring Drew Kafka & Thomas Quinn, that was followed up with an RBI triple by Ty Bosselman which scored Prajapati. Holliston led 6-0 until the bottom of the 5th.
In the bottom of the 5th, the Panthers added another run off an error that allowed Brogan Roache to reach on a fly ball while scoring Arav Prajapati. Dedham responded with a rally of their own in the top of the 6th.
In the top of the 6th with the bases loaded and no outs, Ryan Laughter was hit by a pitch scoring Julian Larabee, Jadiel Feliciano followed up with an RBI single scoring Cam Galvin. Liam Dowling & Ryan Laughter would then both score on an error to make it a 7-4 game. Cam Keane followed up with a sacrifice RBI groundout that scored Feliciano to make it a 7-5 game into the bottom of the 6th.
In the bottom of the 6th, Holliston added a little insurance with a sacrifice RBI flyout by Jack McDonald which scored Ben Maiorano. The Panthers led 8-5 into the top of the 7th.
After a Julian Larabee walk was followed up with a Cam Galvin groundout, Liam Dowling hit an RBI single into right field scoring Larabee. With runners on the corners & 2 outs, Cam Keane singled to score Dowling to make it an 8-7 game. The game would come to an end after that as Holliston’s Jack McDonald struck out Dedham’s Jimmy Doyle swinging for the 3rd out and the Panthers hung on for the 8-7 win capturing their 7th straight victory.
Holliston Ben Maiorano went 2-3 at the plate and scored a run, also for the Panthers, Arav Prajapati went 1-3, scored 2 runs and had 2 RBI’s and Ty Bosselman went 2-3 at the plate with 2 runs and an RBI. Holliston’s starting pitcher, Lucas Engel tallied the win pitching 5 innings giving up 1 hit and 2 runs (both earned) while striking out 6 hitters.
