Medfield Boys Lacrosse defeats Westwood 19-9

The #2nd seeded, Medfield Boys Lacrosse team improved to 15 and 5 overall as they took down #3rd seeded, Westwood 19-9. Westwood ends a great season with a 16 and 6 record. Medfield scored the first 7 goals of the game and led at half 11-2. Westwood outscored Medfield 5-4 in the 3rd quarter and trailed 15-7 heading into the 4th. Medfield shut down any comeback hopes outscoring Westwood 4-2 in the 4th quarter.

According to the Medfield Lacrosse Twitter account, a few Medfield players reached landmarks in the game. Seniors, Matt Treiber and John Maclean surpassed 300 points in their high school careers. Matt Treiber scored his 305th point while John Maclean scored his 301st. Senior, Nigel Reiff surpassed 200 points and now tallies 209 points. Senior, Kevin McCordic scored his 100th career goal in the victory.

Medfield advanced to the Central/East Division 2 Championship against 1st Seeded, Concord-Carlisle (18-2). The game will take place 3pm Saturday (6/11) at Concord-Carlisle High School.
