TVL Boys Basketball Preview 2-2-2018

Is tonight’s matchup of TVL Small vs. Large leaders just the first of many “Games of the Year?” While many games on tonight’s League slate hint at great intrigue–including Hopkinton visiting Ashland with hopes of knocking the Clockers out of playoff contention–Medfield traveling to Dedham could be an instant classic. Medfield’s league leading scoring average (64.9 ppg in League games) and Dedham’s league leading points against (48.0 ppg in League games) promise contrasting styles that could yield a true hoops barn burner. Dedham has a bit of leeway at the top of the Small with a two-game lead over Bellingham, which is idle tonight, while the Warriors have a slim one-game lead over Hopkinton and Norton, who travels to Medway to face a Mustang squad holding onto the slim hopes of staying in the Small race. With a win tonight, Medfield could become the third TVL team to qualify for the state tourney, and only Ashland faces elimination.
