#1 Hopkinton Hillers defeat #9 Milton 12 to 3
-The 1st seeded Hillers took down 9th seeded Milton in the Sectional Quarter-Finals round. Brendan Kelly (SR) pitched 6 solid innings in the game, giving up 2 runs and striking out 5. Kelly also contributed a 2 run HR at the plate. Conor Kelly (SO) closed out the 7th and went 2 for 4 at the plate with 3 RBI’s and scored 2 Runs. Steve Simoes (SR) went 2 for 3 at the plate with a walk and contributed 3 runs and 3 RBI’s. Simoes also gunned down a runner from behind the plate attempting to steal.
The Hillers next will host 5th seeded Stoughton in the Sectional Semi-Finals round on Wednesday June 12th at 4pm. Stoughton lucks out in having Stoughton High School be the “neutral” site for this game.
#7 Westwood Upsets #2 Whitman-Hanson 4 to 3
-7th seeded Westwood earned a trip to the South Division 2 Sectional Semi-Finals with a 4 to 3 upset win over 2nd seeded Whitman-Hanson.
Westwood will next play against #11 Oliver Ames on Wednesday June 12th, 4pm at Adams Field in Quincy.
South Division 3
#8 Ashland Clockers pull off 11 inning upset win over #1 Apponequet
-Ashland advanced on to the South D3 Sectional Semi-Finals with an 8 to 4, 11 inning win over 1st seeded Apponequet. Jackson Hornung (SR) went 4 for 5 at the plate and hit a 2 run homer as part of a 4-run 11th inning. Alex Amalfi (SR) pitched 6 solid innings and scored 3 runs for the Clockers.
Ashland advances on to battle 5th seeded Sandwich. The game will take place Wednesday, June 12th, 4pm at Braintree High School.
#7 Medway shuts out #2 Diman Vocational
-Medway pulled off the 7 to 0 upset win over Diman on Monday. Senior. Justin Pratt (SR) tossed a complete game shutout giving up 4 hits. Nick Sheehan (JR) contributed a home run in the 6th inning and scored 3 runs.
The Mustangs will next take on #3 Dedham in the South Division 3 Sectional Semi-Finals. The game will take place on Wednesday June 12th, 4pm at Franklin High School.
#3 Dedham takes down #11 Norton 11 to 0
-The 3rd seeded Mauraders took care of business against 11th seeded Norton. Griffin O’Connor (JR) pitched 6 shut out innings while Will Casey (SR) closed it out. Both also contributed at the plate, O’Connor went 1 for 4 with a 2 run homer. Casey went 2 for 3 at the plate, scored a run and drove in 3. Shawn Nosky (SR) went 2 for 3 at the plate and scored 2 runs.
Dedham advances on to battle 7th seeded Medway in the South Division 3 Sectional Semi-Finals. The game will take place on Wednesday June 12th, 4pm at Franklin High School.
