Medway Wins TVL Baseball Title!

The Medway Mustangs clinched their 1st TVL Baseball title since 2002 with todays 3-0 win over Holliston.

Medway finished the regular season 16-4. Overall as a team the Mustangs hit a .284 and scored 116 runs (average 5.8 per game). Medway pitching put up a 2.32 overall ERA and racked up 98 strikeouts (average 4.9 per game). Medway was deadly on the base paths as they went 54/61 in stolen base attempts.

Sophomore, Nick Assad led the team hitting with a .368 batting average. Sophomore, Jeff Wenzel had a team leading 18 runs and Senior, Tyler Monahan had a team-leading 15 RBI’s. Junior, Sean Petinge was the Mustangs ace with a 5-0 record in 5 starts, 2 shutouts and a 0.82 ERA. Senior, Seth Coppinger was a great follow up to Petinge with a 4-0 record in 6 starts and a 2.20 ERA. The Mustangs are extremely strong in all facets of the game and should do some serious damage in the postseason.
