Medway Boys take down Bellingham on Senior Night

Tuesday Night was a great night to be a Medway Mustangs fan. The Mustangs celebrated Senior Night with a dominant 67-29 over a good Bellingham team. Bellingham had beaten Medway earlier in the season by a final of 44 to 38 and the Mustangs served up some sweet revenge on their senior night.

The night started off with the Medway Mustangs celebrating their 10 seniors on the roster including: Mike Ertmann, Andrew Burton, Kyle Regan, Matt Kaplan, Nick MacDonald, Drew Plunkett, Ryan Johnston, Andy Way, Matt Peterson and Jack Palos.

After the Senior night festivities, Matt Peterson showed that in addition to being a key contributor on the court, he can also sing a wonderful National Anthem.

The game went back and forth in the 1st quarter but the frame ended with Senior Captain, Drew Plunkett hitting a buzzer-beater 3 to give the Mustangs a 14-13 lead.

In the 2nd quarter, all momentum quickly shifted towards Medway. The Mustangs outscored Bellingham in the quarter 27 to 4. Matt Kaplan(SR) struck for 5 points while Ryan Johnston(SR) added 6 and Jack Palos(SR) added another 5. It was a 41-17 Medway lead heading into the half.

The 3rd quarter was more competitive but 5 points each from Kyle Regan, Matt Peterson and Jack Palos helped Medway outscore Bellingham in the frame 17 to 8. Medway lead 50-25 heading into the 4th quarter, the Mustangs took their time with possessions and managed to outscore Bellingham 9 to 4 in the 4th and took the game 67 to 29.

Medway improves to 15 and 2 on the season while Bellingham falls to 14 and 5. Both teams will be heading into the playoffs.
