Holliston Girls Soccer Wins D2 State Championship

On Saturday November 23rd, the South Sectional Champion, Holliston Panthers defeated North Sectional Champion, Winchester 3 to 2 at Worcester State University to claim their 1st State Championship title in program history. Holliston finishes the season with 19 wins, 0 losses and 3 ties overall.

Holliston’s Megan Putvinski (JR) put the Panthers up 1-0 early in the game. The Panthers went up 2-0 in the 1st half after a goal from Mia Luisi (SO) from an Eva Bergloff (SO) Assist. In the 2nd half, after a Winchester goal, Maggie Fitzgerald (SR) responded with another Holliston goal to make it a 3-1 game and the Panthers hung on to claim their 1st ever State Title.
